Concrete Industry Management (CIM) is a multidisciplinary and experiential program that prepares graduates for a career in the dynamic concrete industry.
About the Program
The Bachelor of Science in Concrete Industry Management (CIM) is a unique program providing
the foundation to enter the built environment materials field. Concrete is part of a multi-billion-
dollar industry, which strongly supports CIM whose graduates obtain a background in
production, applications, distribution, marketing, and sales. This program exists in only five
universities in the country, where NJIT’s CIM program serves students in the Northeast.
The industry seeks CIM graduates because of their unique background in both STEM and
business. This includes multidisciplinary courses in management, engineering, science, and
technology. Students also have the opportunity for dual degree options in other Engineering or
Engineering Technology disciplines as well as several minors.
This is an applied program with several experiential opportunities including national student
team competitions, industry conferences, trade shows, built environment field visits, and a
required coop program. The unique mix of classroom and experiential opportunities provide
graduates with excellent job placement.
There are several transfer options for students from two and four-year programs including
those focused on business, engineering, or engineering technology.
