SAET Academic Advising is designed to support students through their academic programs.
School of Applied Engineering and Technology
SAET Structure:
The SAET programs consist of a Program Coordinator and an Academic Advisor.
Academic Advisors: should be contacted for program related course scheduling, graduation checks, academic concerns, general program questions, and general advice on other NJIT departments/points of contact. Academic advisors can also provide input on careers and other credentials (e.g. minors) to be considered as you develop your plan of study at NJIT.
Program Coordinators: should be contacted for information on the program and how it relates to a student’s career objectives. Program coordinators can provide career advisement, the industry, input on NJIT majors/minors, graduate degrees, certificates, and licensure. Program coordinators are also available to discuss administrative questions/concerns, provide advisement on NJIT systems/processes, and to discuss academic concerns.
SAET Registration Systems
The SAET Programs utilize two methods for course registration. Students seeking a permit for an SAET course should use the SAET Support System
Every semester an advisor hold is placed on the account of every NJIT student. This is normal. For SAET students, to have the advising hold removed, you can fill out a Course Approval Form for the upcoming semester that will be reviewed by the Academic Advisor.
You can fill out this Permit, and our department will review your request. If it is approved, then your account receives an override, so you can add that course to your registration.
