Job Posting: Transportation Surveyor Department of TransportationJC-336804 Transportation Surveyor $5,708.00 - $10,956.00 per Month Final Filing Date: Until Filled Job Description and DutiesIn accordance with Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-33-20 and, as a result of the COVID-19 rapid out-break, Caltrans will continue its hiring practices as they are deemed necessary to “maintain continuity of operations of the federal critical infrastructure…,” Candidates who participate in the interview process will be considered essential in promoting this effort and are not in violation of Executive Order N-33-20. Virtual interviews via web portals or phone will be offered as deemed appropriate and feasible by the hiring manager – standard in-person interviews will still be offered if conditions permit. Under the direction of a Transportation Surveyor Party Chief CT (Caltrans), the incumbent preforms a wide variety of professional land surveying work in a field setting. As incumbent progress in experience, the work assigned will be more difficult and the incumbent may function as a lead person over the activities of various surveying and technical personnel in the field. Incumbent at the journey level and with a license will work in a responsible charge capacity. This advertisement is posted as until filled. Eligibility for hire is determined by your score on the Transportation Surveyor Exam. You must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Working Conditions This posting is for up to 3 hires and the appointment could be in Kern, Tulare, or Fresno county under any Field Supervisor in Central Region Services Surveys. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
